We’re beginning our descent in a few minutes.”             Martin barely slept during the 12 hour flight; holding the suitcase with lots of money he decided to take from the restroom in his last airport stop, still with some adrenaline rushing through his body. He’s even been thrice to the bathroom in the plane to take a quick small peek at the thousand, or millions inside. [Untitled (for now)]   [Reference: siblings 1]   A group of five high school friends –age 16 to 17— have been preparing for prom for the last three weeks. They all have their dates, suits, cars and very exciting and romantic plans. This is the night. They have been together since elementary school. The bond is long and strong. They’re like brothers. Everything is set for this big evening, and apparently their respective dates are totally willing also, or close to be. One of them is half-sister to one of the five friends. They don’t live together, they live with their respective moms and their stepfathers, but they have a healthy relationship and the group actually gets along well having half-siblings among them. They all drive amazing vehicles this night; some rented, some borrowed. They pick their girls up; one dressed lovelier than the other. The sky is beautiful. [Untitled (for now)]  [Reference: Crew 3]   The crew of professional cat burglars (Mel, Leo, Chris, August and Nat), finally arrive at their secure location. Thanks to Nat the contortionist, who remained hidden in a very small compartment on the boat, they could escape Interpol upon arriving at the city docks. Simple. She snuck out unnoticed and freed them while the cops where distracted with formalities and paperwork, since they were not being closely guarded. They are now countries away from where they were captured. Now at the mansion there are lots of signs of struggle but not forced entry. Kathe is not home, as they presumed.  They are all stressed, nervous and also scared for Kathe. Nothing makes sense so far. They are always cautions, disciplined, and truth worthy with one another.  They have never failed a job, never had encounters with law enforcement officials and never had competitors in the field. Buying stocks, islands, mansions, cars, starting hotel chains and throwing a big wedding are among their dreams after this score. They already have the buyer for the item they are going to steal, and the price will settle them for life. Leo and Mel –which are engaged— are the de facto leaders of their joined jobs, the most agile and crafty of the group. There is also Chris the tech guy, August the gear specialist and Nat the contortionist. Kathe manages the negotiations, the drops, and the deliveries, exchanges and serves as the legal front of their operations. She, however, never goes on the field. [Untitled (for now)] [Reference: crew 1] Mel and Kathe arrive to this place they’ve been planning to have lunch in for the last week. Kathe made the reservation for a table for 2 at the plaza –a nice outdoor area— in the middle of a famous café district in town. The restaurants around share this open square as a common patio for customers that wish to enjoy an open-air meal. The traffic on the plaza is mostly pedestrian, cyclists and the occasional Vespa. They engage in some small talk. Kathe complains about the clothes Mel is wearing; “sports tights” she called them, adding that she hardly ever dresses for the occasion. Mel defends her choices describing her style as comfortable and not “sport tights” but “training clothes”. She adds that she could never be moving around in dresses and high heels like Kathe.  Gracias a la mano de Halley Ediciones de Buenos Aires, celebro la llegada de Gotero de un Témpano , mi primer poemario, que recopila una serie textos breves de mi cuenta de twitter. Siempre soñé con tener libros bajo mi nombre (cualquiera de los dos nombres). Imaginé que podría ser uno o dos cuentos cortos en una compilación junto con textos de otros autores, o en una especie de antología de poemas de mediano o largo aliento de los que tanto me gusta exhalar por los dedos. Confieso –entre risas—, jamás imaginé que el libro primogénito sería de tweets. Las vueltas que da la vida, graciosas las cosas de Dios, irónico que es el destino.
